Dear Potential Volunteer,
We welcome your participation in our Afghanistan clinic and school. Volunteers are expected to pay their own travel expenses and $15 a day for board and room if staying in our guest house. We provide cooked meals, comfortable semi-private rooms, hot showers, laundry, and internet.
Our staff speaks both English and Dari. Our clinic consists of three operatories with x-ray machines and modern equipment, a staff dentist and assistant, mechanic, project manager, and 24-hour security. It is open six days a week, year-round. Volunteers may travel as individuals or as a group. A driver is available to pick you up at the airport and take you to our facility in Karte Char.
If you would like to go with a group from your area, please indicate this. Two weeks or longer is recommended. A visa is necessary for those who are not of Afghan origin. Visas are obtained by sending a completed passport application to the Afghan Embassy in Washington, DC.
We encourage volunteers to bring dental anesthetic, analgesics, composite bonding agent, surgical instruments, and cavitron-type teeth cleaning machines as checked baggage as donations to the clinic. Thank you for your interest. To obtain more specific information, please access our website at www.adrpinc.org, e-mail us at adrp@verizon.net, or call 805-963-2329.
